The Camps
Out of the 20 camps or facilities during World War II only five of them were death camps the rest were all concentration camps. At the concentration camps they decided who would live and work and who would die. The ones that were useless, old, or weak were sent to the death camps. At the death camp its main purpose was to in whatever way kill and keep it clean all of the Jews. They started first by having all the Jews line up in a single straight line and have them in front of the firing squad. Then all of the sudden the guns went off, they wasted so much ammo that it costed too much. After they shot the bodies they took them out to an area and stripped the clothes off of the dead bodies. They then would barely them in the ground. There was a story about this lady who got shot in the arm and just fainted, then hours later she woke up and found herself next to a dead body. She thought she was in hell. It was dark and hot and it smelled very bad she thought that she had done too much wrong when all of the sudden the dirt shifted and she saw the light she put her arms through the whole and got out. She walked down and soon she found this Nazi soldier which was a woman, the lady looked at her and thought she was a ghost or a zombie. Then she took off the lady made it London where she wrote her experience in the war. Once they stopped using firing squads they used a special gas to kill them. What they would do is that they would have the men go in one room and the women go in another they would then have them take off all of their clothes, but made sure that they were stacked neatly. They told them that they were just going to take a shower so when they came back they would know where their clothes were. The women and children went first. The setup was a large building with pipes and shower heads running through it making it look like a giant shower. Once everyone was in they closed the huge metal door and looked it shut. There were small peeps wholes through out the building where they watched the bodies fall and die. Once the gas started it took about 20 minutes until all the bodies were dead. They then ran the showers to get rid of the smell and the gas. They then carried the bodies out on to an elevator they would take them to the fire pit where they were burned. Sometimes they would just through the kids in because the kids didn't fight back as much as the adults did. The men then were the next ones to shower. The gas they used was useless for any other reason this is why it was a very effective way of killing humans. They also used ovens. They would put bodies in them and cremate them and the ashes would be taken on a truck and gotten rid of. Through many ways they killed millions of Jews. They picked the spots up in Poland for a reason, to be a way from the rest of the world so they wouldn't know exactly what was happening.
