Hitler Himself
Adolf Hitler was born in Braunau am Inn, Austria, on April 20, 1889. Hitler was the founder of the Nazi Party. Hitlers father was an official at the Austria customs. Hitler never completed high school. Hitler became an orphan and made money by working on a peasant and then later he sold many of his drawings. Hitler read a lot too, that is when he developed knowledge of anti-Jewish and anti-Democratic beliefs.
In World War I, Hitler volunteered for the Bavarian army. He was an outstanding soldier but was never promoted from private first class because the heads thought that he was lacking leadership ability. After Germany lost World War I in 1918 he stayed in the army until 1920. Hitler then joined the nationalist German Workers' Party, which he later called the National Socialist German Workers (Nazi) party. In 1921 he was elected to the party chairman with dictatorial powers.
Hitler led a revolt and was soon put into prison for five years because of that. During his time in prison Hitler wrote his book Mein Kampf or in English my struggles. The people of Germany were in a great depression and turned toward Hitler where he promised that all Germans would have a job and he soon became into power as Germanys new dictator.
